Straight-up and fresh out of school, Agnes Lloyd-Platt is a fashion photographer we’ve got our eye on. The 22-year-old has just graduated from the London College of Fashion with a first class honours degree and is already making her name for herself in the big wide world. We love her versatility and use of colour to make photos that waver between breathtaking poetry and youth riot.

Twin caught up with the young photographer…

What’s was your first ever memorable encounter with fashion photography?
Getting a signed polaroid from Naomi Cambell when I was 11. She thought my name was Haggie.

When did you first pick up a camera?
When I was 18. I wanted to be an astronaut up until then so who knows what went wrong!

Why fashion photography?
For the people, its a much more diverse mix than I first thought.

What do you look for in an image when you’re working?
I like the directional quality of natural light, especially working with colour and location.

What do you use? Do you have a set technique?
I use a Canon 5D mkII and have recently fallen for the 50mm f1.2 lens.

You’ve shot a couple of campaigns for your mum  Ally Cappelino – What’s it like working with her?
It’s great, shes an upfront lady so I get good feedback and criticism and a compliment feels well earned.

What’s been your best shoot to date?
My Final Major Project for LCF, I worked with a great team of people and followed through with a crazy idea, proving to myself if no one else I had more skills than pointing and clicking.

Name three things you love?
Wedges (the shoe), fennel (the vegetable) and butter (the sin).

Three things you hate?
Most shades of purple (something I learned from my mother), stairs (I have an acute fear of falling down them) and bad photoshopping (it’s everywhere!)

What’s the soundtrack to your work?
Spotify’s soul radio

If you could photograph anyone, who would it be?
This is a constantly changing ideal. Posh Spice ranks highly just for her multifaceted talents and bizarre mystique.

What’s up next?
Shooting with lovely Poplin pyjamas for their SS13 collection.
