Screentest

Student films get a bad rep, with cliches of shaky footage, bad lighting and even worse scripts being the norm. But even the queen of pop Madonna obtained some of her first media exposure in a short film entitled The Egg. If it works for Madge, then surely there is some unexplored potential to be found in this arena.

Helping charter this territory is Screentest Festival, an event championing the UK’s undiscovered Bigelows and Boyles. Since 2004, the annual festival has been bringing together a vast range of aspiring film talent. From drama to documentary, flicks from every genre will be screened alongside workshops and talks with industry figures, making it the ideal place for those looking to get their reels onto the big screen and curious film aficionados alike.

Screentest Festival runs from March 22 – 24 at South Bank University, 103 Borough Rd , SE1 0AA.
