Emerging label, CO|TE is the new wave of Italian talent from designers Tomaso Anfossi and Francesco Ferrari. Since the debut of their SS12 collection in Milan and Paris, they have impressed press and buyers alike and were recent finalists in the Woolmark Prize.

The brand has the full backing from the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, Vogue Italia and has gone straight into luxury stores globally, including Harvey Nichols London.

Twin caught up with the duo…

When did you start designing?
We both starting designing two years ago with another brand. That is where our friendship started and we decided to create our own label, based on our ideas of fashion.

Materials?
We use tulle, in colours black and nude for every collection. Cotton, wool, silk, eco fur and leather. All the materials are from Italy and we spend a lot of time researching fabric and texture.

Aesthetic?
Clean lines, geometric shapes. Feminine silhouettes focussing on the skin of the shoulder and back.

A/W12 colour scheme?
Graduation of green shades. We play with colour, and believe in colour to create a fresh collection.

Favourite piece of AW12?
The Carrie Dress and the Eco Fur Coat.

What is the Milan style to you?
It is all in the small details, and the quality of fabric.

What to do for fun?
Party, party, party…and sleep!
