Travelling without moving

The Swanfield pop-up shop opens its doors to Shoreditch one more. The boutique relaunched last week with an evening of sweet treats, covetable delights and music by Serafina Steer. Nestled in a downstairs space alongside the legendary Hoxton Boutique this temporary haven of treasures showcases some of the best independent design talent in London right now.

The concept was dreamt up by Katherine Pont creator of Mine Clothing (Florence Welch and Bat For Lashes are fans), and Cecilia Hammarborg who also has an eponymous line. “This is our fourth location since 2008,” says Katherine. “I’m friends with Alicia from Hoxton Boutique and when the space became free [Mandi Lennard PR used to occupy it] we thought it would be ideal,” she continues. “We’re kind of going back to our roots – East London is where we started it all and it’s where the majority of our collective operate from.”

The labels on sale at Swanfield include Hobo, French & Confectioners (who hand makes bespoke bags), Milena Silvano, Zan Zan eyewear, Nicole De Main, Jenny Jenny and Lula Dot’s recycled jewellery (currently forged from the insides of discarded watches). There’s also art by Conny Prantera, and cakes by Lily Vanili – who has baked for Elton John and Henry Holland. All you need to do is get there before 7th August.
